How 2020 will create a built different cannabis network among veterans
Today a built different kind of social media live stream will cast it’s 360 degree net specifically for groupers. The focus will squarely be on cannabis, and veterans with a little bit of America’s Team in between.
The purpose of this welcome aboard message is to allow my readers, and viewers of our show Square Groupers to have a beginning point with some resources. In addition, briefly highlight our first pandemic Veterans Day.
A different pandemic number manifesting among veterans
Could any veteran have ever dreamed up what the words “pandemic,” and the year “2020" would actually combine for a global mental health experience never felt before among veterans?
While conducting research and writing my Amazon Kindle e-book Bullet Proof this time last year I learned some very startling veteran suicide facts.
The numbers specifically shared on the VA 2019 report including 2017 statistics that 11 out of 17 veterans who committed suicide had no VA connection established prior to.
Although current pandemic suicide statistics for veterans are not available more than 40 states have reported increases in opioid-related deaths since then pandemic struck, according to the American Medical Association.
The First Step is to seek help as veterans
The day I decided to drive to the American Lake VA Hospital to seek help instead of parking to jump over the side of the Tacoma Narrows bridge in Gig Harbor, WA I escaped the aforementioned statistic.
If you’re a Veteran in crisis or concerned about one, there are caring, qualified VA responders standing by to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1–800–273–8255. Enter Crisis Chat now.
The new emergency mental health hotline will be 988, accoring to NPR. Assisting in categorizing mental health calls more exclusively, and effictively under this new law likely up and running by 2022.
For transitioning veterans with twelve months or less make sure to get connected to eBenefits and the official VA sites. While on active duty make sure to register with ID.Me so you can take advantage of LinkedIn’s 1 year FREE Premium campaign.
The bill is called the Commander John Scott Hannon Veterans Mental Health Care Improvement Act, named for a retired Navy commander who committed suicide by firearm in 2018 at age 46.
Are you a veteran in the dark? Meaning you are not technology savvy? The first step is to get internet access. As an employee of Comcast I championed a program called Internet Essentials. Providing internet access for veterans on a smaller budget.
My 180 degree purview of the stream will focus on veterans first. As a retired 23 year Navy veteran once I learned about the veteran suicide statistics it literally drove me to share my “Bullet Proof” story on Amazon Kindle.
Instead of participating in the ongoing opiod pandemic I choose to get underway with the cannabis “Big Green Rush” movement to deal with my depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
A little help from a friend who knows a thing or two about cannabis
The other 180 degrees of the stream Sqaure Groupers belongs to who I consider a “Ganja God” among NFL fans. Our collective show will focus on Facebook to inspire, inform, and educate veterans on how to start growing their own bales.
Essentially connecting veterans to a network currently under construction behind the scenes of Facebook’s timeline algorithm. Specifically for early adopters who have a built different kind of vision. One that dives head first into the stream in 2021.
Rolling it all up
