How luck is actually the art of preparation meeting opportunity
Preparation meets opportunity appearing as luck
The separation is in the preparation, literally. Luck to some people is this magical reception of a thing randomly blessed by the universe. Others take advantage of these situations by always staying prepared, and when their opportunity knocks it’s game time.
Are you continually blaming your circumstances on a person or thing? Or do you seek out solutions on how to fix or improve them? Let’s travel this journey together to examine for ourselves. Creating an optimistic view for the future.
According to some “luck” would be the ultimate reason others have it better off than you. I couldn’t disagree more. It all starts with ourselves. How we think, and act despite our situations. Examining the short and long term possibilities and developing an executable plan is key initially. Outlining goals beyond our reach to stretch, and grow ourselves in the process. It requires work at times, and quite frankly that’s where an opportunity arrives. The separation is in the preparation.
I share this as a result of my own life experiences. Things have not always been easy. Much like you, I still struggle but, never cease to remain optimistic. Always looking for that silver lining. Finally the lesson w elearn in the process.
Ultimately, figuring out the best way for me to sort my thoughts was through writing in a blog. Sort of therapy if you will. Each day begins a new page in our book of life. How you write your story is up to you. I want to thank you for joining me along my journey.
The brain is a muscle and it to must be optimized for growth and opportunity
Years ago I read a book. It had a profound way of effecting my thoughts. Having read it many times since then it continues to influence how I set all my goals.
To this day Im thankful for my brief opportunity in the multi-level marketing industry in the early 2000’s. It taught me that one must feed and develop the brain muscle through reading. In addition how those you associate with most determine your elevation.
Think about it for a minute. What you feed your mind, and those 5 people you associate with the most can determine your trajectory.
Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich is an absolutely powerful book for your mind. It taught me that luck simply was the art of preparation meeting opportunity. Through the law of attraction the universe rewards the bold. And those who act upon their thoughts with definite purpose and desire.
How to turn a single thought into a laser focus through an actionable plan. Without a doubt this book will lay the foundation for you on how to make your opportunity knock.
Once you read this book your whole mindset will shift. Take ownership of your circumstances and get results like you have never imagined.
Why you need to write your goals down
Almost mid way through February and it’s probably safe to say many have quit their new years resolution. Quite frankly that mind set is not very effective. Using the “New Years Resolution” approach to your goals fails most of the time. Because we never write that goal down with a plan on how to obtain it.
Those of us who have played this game likely did not write their resolution or goals down. A Harvard Business Study found that the 3% of graduates from their MBA who had their goals written down, ended up earning ten times as much as the other 97% put together, just ten years after graduation.
Now I know this jumps from resolutions to financial goals, but the same rules apply. Example; When was the last time you made a grocery list? If you’re like me, while your in the store you make sure to get everything on your list if you do. Had I not went in with one however, I likely would have forgot an item of two off of pure memory. Hence the importance of writing down your goals.
The act of setting goals is good, but you can increase the effectiveness by writing your goals down.[/caption]
We will examine this entire book’s 15 chapters through a series of blog post’s to map out our journey together here in my blog. It will serve as a discussion point on how we build our foundation of opportunity with it. Be sure to visit the link , and purchase your book today.
In conclusion
Finally, write down your goals today. For the day, week, months, and year. Feed your brain through reading, and get results in the process. If you have a strong desire to change your circumstances this year. It’s time to go all in.
Always bet on yourself. Allow this year to be the one that separates them from the rest. Cash in your chips. Understanding the rules to the game and how to apply them gets results faster. Never rely on luck itself to just show up unexpectedly. Prepare for the meeting of opportunity, and listen to others say how they wish they were as luck as you!
This is the first step on “How to make your opportunity knock.”
