The Bi-Polar Dallas Cowboys are paying network Ho Ho Holiday Bills
Let’s examine the behavioral differences between the Cowboys’ Bipolar tendencies at home and on the road
It Takes Two To Tango
Your mental health matters when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. It appears the Bipolar Cowboys have entered the chat. Why do you think I drink coffee and inhale medical cannabis daily? You have to drink or smoke a little something to deal with these Cowboys each season.
Since 2016 I have studied Cowboys fans and their behaviors on social media. This season has allowed me to further engage and create content that informs and educates around it as a result. The names Jekyll and Hyde have become synonymous with multiple personality disorder.
Bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression) is a mental illness that causes unusual shifts in a person’s mood, energy, activity levels, and concentration. These shifts can make it difficult to carry out day-to-day tasks.
Kind of like the current shift between the Cowboys at home and on the road. How can this be? At times we see 2 different teams on gameday and fans are HIGHLY frustrated. Your favorite alphabet networks understand this and that’s why it takes two to tango. You and the networks.
Losing Equals Winning
I have seen many opportunistic creators across social media capitalizing on the shortcomings of the Cowboys each season. There’s a science and psychology to this after all. One that networks invest heavily in. Psychological programming.
Have you ever watched The Social Dilemma, on Netflix? If you have then you already understand. Networks have bills to pay and their talking heads they utilize to program and promote the game. It’s a pay-to-play game now.
Why do you think NFL Memes got so wildly popular among NFL fans on social media? Well played Randy Oliver. Bad news travels fast. When it’s the Cowboys it travels at light speed. Especially with NFL Memes.
When the Dallas Cowboys lose America wins. I shared this with you earlier this season. Think about how many talk shows incorporate the Cowboys into their content the day after a loss. Thank’s Stephen A. Smith.
Split Personalities
I love social media. It’s the only place you can fool everyone that you’re living your best life at home when actually, you could be homeless. Nobody knows the difference. Kind of like the Cowboys at home versus on the road. What’s the difference?
Not to offend anyone with a Bipolar diagnosis currently. Especially my veterans. This article is designed to raise attention, inform, and educate you. Mental health does matter.
Since 2016 I have become a fan who had to navigate the comment sections of fans full of vitriol for my team on social media. Knowing your audience is key for a Fan Base Creator. Cowboys losses don't affect my mental health like they used to. Now I just capitalize like NFL Memes does.
You have to develop a split personality with this team. You never know what you’re going to get week in and out. Once you grasp this concept things get easier emotionally after a loss. Getting help through the VA with my mental health helped me birth this concept.
The Secret Sauce
What’s the secret sauce to this network science of emotionally programming NFL audiences on social media? One that involves the Cowboys content of course. No other team in the league has that potency.
The Cowboys currently have fans shifting their moods and online behaviors after the BILLS beat down WK15. Rightfully so. That’s why “Over Reaction Mondays” are so popular on alphabet networks. The previous 5 weeks we felt like Dr Jekyll on a winning streak.
Then on days like today, Cowboys fans feel like Mr Hyde. Television programming and social media help this. Especially when a completely different Cowboys team shows up on the road. We are currently 3–4 on the road this season. Can the madness stop in South Beach WK16?
New reader here? I approach my team and writing differently on Medium. I encourage every veteran reading this to get connected to the VA healthcare system nearest you. It could mean the difference between life and death.
