The Dallas Cowboys deserve an A+ NFL Draft Grade; here’s why
There are those in charge and those in control. Most times it's not the same person.
Takes One To Know One
The NFL graded Will McClay from the 2023 NFL Draft. He was given an F. Now that the ’24 Draft has concluded and 8 picks later we have witnessed the “Draft Whisperer” bring his grade up to an A+. Even without drafting an RB? Yes, even without one. We won the Trenches in Motor City.
Who is Will McClay? He was born on October 13, 1966, in Memphis, Tennessee, but grew up outside Houston, Texas. He attended Missouri City Jr. High and Marian Christian High School. Since 2014 he has overseen the Cowboys drafting process and execution as the VP of Player Personnel.
His football career took off as a player at Rice University, where he started all four years of his collegiate career (1985–1988) as a defensive back. In 1988, he was picked up by the Arena League football Detroit Drive, where he played wide receiver and defensive back for four seasons (1989–1992).
Al Harris, currently the DB Coach for the Cowboys approves and states that he is ‘The absolute best in the business.” After filling holes on both sides of the ball. The disrespecting of his name continues. Simply, because our fans are not paying attention on social media.
Charge & Control
Between the “Draft Whisperer” and Jerry Jones these 2 men are in control and charge of the players with the Dallas Cowboys. The fact we did not draft an RB in this draft has many Cowboys fans with their britches in a bunch. RB was not our greatest need in the draft, however.
After their ’23 performance together, with 8 total picks, we witnessed maybe 3 of them take the field last season. That was no bueno. In this year’s draft, we gathered 4 offensive and defensive players combined. Balancing out both need and position for our roster.
