Popularity Contest

After serving in the trenches since 2016 as a Fan Base Creator, one thing I noticed is that Cowboys fans are continuously in a popularity contest. Everyone wants to be the #1 this or that. I don’t buy becoming a Cowboys fan by birth either. Even if your parents were both Cowboys fans. There’s a thin line. Like being ten toes down or up with this team in 2024.

First, let’s examine what ‘Ten toes down” means. My first exposure to the term was through music by way of Memphis, TN. By a duo of the name 8Ball & MJG. Ten toes down means committed to something for life. Their track Life Goes On resonates the most. Relax and take notes.

Have you ever seen the abbreviation DC4L? Dallas Cowboys 4 Life. I have heard many fans throw that around loosely as if they were down until death. Most fans only have it ON them and not IN them. Until death do us part from the Star. Giving new meaning to “Ten toes up” with a toe tag.

How can you not be born as a Cowboys fan? Easy. Although the brain continues to develop and change into adulthood, the first 8 years set the foundation. My claim to fame is at age 11 in 1985 at Texas…
