Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys led the league in 2023 with 127 penalties. Heading into WK16 with 102 his “Bad Boys” are well on their way to finishing first during the 2023 season.

Bad Boys Bad Boys

The NFC East Penalty Report is in. The Dallas Cowboys are now giving us their best “Bad Boys” impression from the NBA during the late 80’s. Will Mike McCarthy’s squad lead the league again during the regular season in penalties?

During 2021 the Cowboys finished first in penalties with 127. During the 2022 season, the Cowboys finished 9th overall with 102 penalties. Is America’s Team really that undisciplined?

When you can't beat them, join them. Leading the league in 2014, the Seattle Seahawks won a Super Bowl with 130 regular season penalties. During WK15 the Cowboys were flagged 5 times Vs Buffalo to their only one. Three personal Cowboys fouls which resulted in scores.

In this week's edition, we see the Cowboys who lead the league currently with 102 and the Commanders who are the most disciplined team currently with only 70. What will the Bad Boys do with the three remaining regular season games?

Let’s Get Physical

The knock on the Cowboys currently is we are not physical enough on the road. Take for example the Niners Wk5 and the Bills Wk15 games. maybe they should take note of the Pistons playbook in the NBA.

The Piston’s strategy to could Jordan during the 1989 Eastern Conference Finals. What were the Pistons Jordan rules? When the Detroit Pistons faced the Bulls in the late 1980s, they adopted a set of defensive rules to stop Jordan.

These “Jordan Rules” called for intense physical defense on Jordan, double and triple teaming him at times and forcing him into uncomfortable positions that forced him to give up the ball.

How can the Cowboys force the Dolphins into this “Uncomfortable” position in South Beach WK16? Get physical, that’s how. The Cowboys tackling against the Bills sucked. We have not lost 2 games in a row dating back to November of 2021.
