Slim Thug continues to grind as an “Internet KingPin” on the Worle Wide Web

Pimp C’s line “The peice the chain, the gangsta hat, the alligator shoes with the belt to match” was one of the coldest lines spawned from the late great country rap tune pioneer out of Port Authur, TX. One of a few hits from UGK’s project “Side Hutles” in 2002.

Houston has birthed plenty of talent from all sides of the city actually. Before music was shared socially online, streamed, or distirbuted digitally while I was in the Navy I used to purchase CD’s from Tosin in Houston online from the West Coast. The Founder of The Screw Shop.

This is how I discovered the Northside 11 CD from Swisha House. That Slim Thug opener though was some of the hardest shit I’ve heard. Slim aboslutely let’s all those players know in the GAME his prowess, and value to it.

In addition, this was the first time I actually heard Paul Wall. It was a few months later I learned he was actually white. Remember, I could only hear these guys. There was no YouTube, or other platform with video to complete the picture. Just yet.
