A New Year’s resolution is a goal we set for ourselves that makes the most of the fresh start that the New Year brings.

The Difference

The ugly truth about New Year's resolutions and goals is that you don’t have to wait until the end of each year. The beginning of each new year can provide inspiration and an opportunity for you to create a goal or a resolution.

The difference between a goal and a dream is a written plan of action. Resolution is defined as a firm decision to do or not to do something. Simply writing your goal or resolution down on paper increases your chances of accomplishing it even greater!

Why do so many people fail to reach their goals or resolutions shortly after each new year begins? A written plan of action. One of the most overused phrases I hear this time of year is “New Year New Me!”

The most common New Year's goal or resolution you normally hear however is getting a new gym membership. To get in shape and lose weight for the summer!

The reality is you don't have to wait until the end of each year. You can wake up today and set a goal for yourself. Most people take more time to plan their vacations than they do writing down their goals each year.
