The Eagles themselves describe Hotel California lyrics as an “interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles.” Chad Butler was found dead 13 years ago reported in the media as a drug overdose on December 4, 2007. Inside a Mondrian Hotel room formerly known as The Abbey. He was 33 at the time.

In order to soar with eagles, you can't hang out with chickens

My father was a drummer. After departing the Army in the late 70’s he played music as a way to help deal with his PTSD. Years later in high school, I too played the trumpet and drums in the band. After graduating in 92 from Thrall ISD I enlisted in the Navy.

I recently discovered an interview on YouTube that won't seem to stop tapping my snare about Pimp C’s unanswered death. Anyone who knows me knows how much Chad Butler had an impact on me through his music.

Pimp C taught me about Texas culture and experiences through his music with his first-hand testimony while in the Navy. It’s inspired me to share this agenda spoken about with you as a result.

In addition, I’m reading his book on Amazon Kindle written by Julia Beverly. Which is quite lengthy but has provided many answers when combining it with UGK’s music catalog. I will share a book review on it here soon.
