Dreams are something you create in your mind that can take any shape or form, while goals are based on taking action. With goals, a lot of focus and attention is needed. Dreams, on the other hand, don’t need that kind of focus. You can sit for hours and dream without doing a single thing about it.

Stop Dreaming Start Writing

In just over a month 2024 will be upon us. Do you have a New Year's Resolution of becoming a writer? Not sure where to begin? The fact you’re reading this means you have a dream and not a goal. What’s the difference? Keep reading to learn more.

Veterans can do a lot of dreaming. Some more than others. I have learned as a veteran that writing is therapeutic. Medium is the perfect platform for beginners and veterans. Not for you to crank out a few articles and think you can get rich overnight either. I like to play the long game as a writer.

The difference between a dream and a goal is a written down plan. Take for example I shared with you here this fall my Medium goal of writing at least 1 article per day. It’s kinda like going to the gym with no workout plan.
