Why my sanity was worth more than a six-figure sales gig
A gig economy is a free market system in which temporary positions are common and organizations hire independent workers for short-term commitments. The term “gig” is a slang word for a job that lasts a specified period of time; it is typically used by musicians.

Opportunity Knocks

Prior to the state of WA increasing its isolation restrictions for citizens to combat the pandemic virus recently, back in February of 2017 I began a new sales job with Comcast. As a new member of the direct sales team, I was assigned to the Gig Harbor, WA territory. About a 25-minute drive from where I currently reside. The largest sales professional territory in the state of WA.

Mark Cuban said on the show Shark Tank that he highly respected people who actually knocked on stranger's doors and sold them a product or service. Likely because at age 12 his first job went door to door selling garbage bags.

My office desk sat next to another Marine veteran named Pat. Pat had been in direct sales for almost 5 years. Once he shared that he made over 200k the previous year my faith grew exponentially.

All I could say was to myself is, “This guy made 200k? Selling cable door to door? If he can do it, I damn sure can.” Now all I need is the formula.
