Why the Dak Prescott DraftKings OVER on INTs is a SWEET SUCKER BET
How to define an NFL “SUCKER BET”
Getting more familiar with a SPORTSBOOK this season has presented a divine appointment. Just before the NFL kicks off on TNF a Dak Prescott-led “Texas Coast Offense” makes its following formal introduction on SNF against the G-men. All eyes will be on The Prescott Promise.
Conducting research has become an essential part of my composition make-up as a creator. When I do numbers you know I prefer Statmuse. Not to put the horse before the cart however let’s examine the definition of a “SUCKER BET” first.
A sucker bet is a gambling wager in which the expected return does not reflect the odds of winning, and is significantly lower. During the course of researching the most polarizing player in the NFL, Dak Prescott, I discovered the over-under from DraftKings on his INTs and laughed. The Philadelphia Enquirer is educating its readers on how to place the bet.
What I’m about to share with you is called a CONTRARIAN bet. I would take the under on this bet. No, it’s not mainly because I’m a Cowboys fan either. Men lie, women lie, but numbers don’t according to admitted Cowboys fan Sean Carter.
WHAT WERE DAK’S INT’S PRIOR to 2022?
It’s easy to see once you examine the packet’s contents. DAK is DUE to hold good on his Interception Promise this season. He has set up the HOUSE to sweeten the deal with some suckers as a result.
Going into year 8 QB1 Prescott has had 4 seasons with double-digit interceptions. Last year's 15 picks are still fresh in everyone’s mind in the 12 games he played. Missing 5 games due to a thumb injury on his throwing hand.
During that span, his 7-year average of 9.3 INT per season is well UNDER the DraftKings current over/ under at 13.5. To top it off his last two seasons have had 15, and 10 respectively according to Statmuse. He is due for a regression just like the Eagles fan base is this season.
So why would everyone take the OVER on this bet instead? The PE reader's dislike for DAK is one. For two, this is a classic example of how to measure the KOOL-AID. Step one you peel the packet top back and dump the powder in the pitcher.
It’s the adding sugar part second that really makes this bet so sweet for suckers. The mainstream media along with the HOUSE in “Sin City” are continuing to pump bags of PURE CANE sugar into the garage by the pallet.
FINALLY THIS ONE THING ALONE
Prescott made a promise to the Cowboys fan base and the world that the INT number would never be that high again. If you know anything about Prescott’s story with his late mother Peggy, her voice alone is a constant reminder.
I hope you read this before taking that bet being pushed by the Philadelphia Enquirer today. DraftKings and the NFL are in bed together now in case you weren't aware. Just be careful how you measure the KOOL-AID. Thanks, Boss Cowboy.
Fans placing bets who know nothing about the game are suckers. Most likely those downloading the DraftKings app right now. Within a legal sports betting state. Getting ready to place this best that just scrolled past their timeline on a paid advertisement by the Philadelphia Enquirer.
Promises are made to be broken. One thing we will both learn soon enough here is what happens this season. I’m almost willing to walk into the Emerald Queen Casino’s BETMGM SPORTSBOOK to put my money where my mouth is.
